Tattoo Cover-Up's

Lion Cover-Up

Over the years, I've had a lot of clients hit me up about a tattoo that they regretted or about a tattoo that just didn't turn out how they wanted it too. Some clients reach out to me already thinking I can just cover it up with something they have in mind. Cover ups always require some kind of consultation. If at first we don’t met in person please at least send pics of the existing tattoo along with a couple of cover up images and options. Having a couple of options of the cover up tattoo will give me the ability to play with the design. We might have to compromise to make sure the new piece is done in a way that helps make sure the old tattoo can be properly concealed. Be open minded, I want to work together with you so you are happy, but I need to be realistic. As the client, you know what you want, but it’s always in your interest to hear out the artist and their recommendations. The artist knows fully well what they are capable of achieving. Now if your adamant on getting a cover-up you know or have already been told just wont work for the area. Either, the new tattoo doesn't provide enough coverage, coverage is impossible to get in the right places or you just have a completely different design idea. These limitations may require a different approach, and it may be worth the time and extra money to arrange a laser tattoo removal session or two before-hand. Covering-up a pre-lighten or dramatically faded tattoo create ideal conditions for any tattoo artist come time of your appointment. What's more important is you are highly likely to be able to get what your dead-set on even if it was thought to be previously impossible. My approach to a coverup is to really to make sure the new tattoo can seamlessly take over and look effortlessly like it was there from the start. Being able to visualize the new tattoo almost melting in position so the old tattoo work completely falls back into the shadow. Injecting light to only accentuate and define the right areas of the new tattoo. Adding a precise amount of subtle highlights so the new piece can take center stage. My goal is to have you leaving your session hardly remembering the tattoo you got there in the first place.
